Explanation
Imagine the look on the doctor’s face when he hears the old woman’s excuse: that she can’t see him because she’s sick. Isn’t that why he’s there in the first place? It’s possible that the old woman thinks the doctor is just making a social call, in which case she’s not presentable for any such visit. The doctor may choose to stop by another time when the woman is feeling better, although the visit really wouldn’t make much sense then. The elderly certainly do have their curious quirks…

Explicación:
Imaginad la cara del buen doctor cuando se encuentra con que la excusa que le ha puesto la abuela para no verle es que está precisamente enferma. ¿No se supone que el médico ha ido precisamente porque la abuela está enferma? Es muy probable que la abuela se crea que el médico ha ido sólo para hacer una visita y charlar así que, claro, la pobre mujer no está presentable para ninguna visita. Quizá el médico debería pasarse por la casa cuando la abuela esté mejor pero entonces, ¿para qué serviría su visita? Algunas veces los mayores tienen cada cosa…
